Book Review: Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (and Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling

So I just finished reading Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (and Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)

I used to watch The Office pretty regularly, and currently have a season recording for The Mindy Project  on my DVR.  So I figured I had a good sense of what I was getting myself into by reading this book…and I was right.

This was a pretty fast and easy read.  It’s one part autobiography and one part monologue that you’d see as an intro for SNL or some late night show.  One thing that I really liked (which I don’t often experience) is that while reading the book I could pretty much hear her voice.  I have no doubt that this is her work.

The bottom line is that this is the perfect book for vacation.  It’s got short chapters so you can stop in the middle where you want.  You aren’t going to have to think too hard about it.  If it falls in the sand…you’re going to be okay with that.  But ultimately it’s going to give you a few laughs.  I give it three out of five stars.
