Book Review: Dirty Martini by J.A. Konrath

I actually first heard about J.A. Konrath from his blog A Newbie’s Guide to Publishing.  There’s a lot of interesting stuff about writing and self-publishing.  So when his book was free on Amazon, I just had to get it.  Here is my review of Dirty Martini by J.A. Konrath.

Dirty Martini (Jack Daniels Mystery, #4)

This is a fourth story in the thriller series about Jacqueline “Jack” Daniels (great name right?).  I have already read the second Bloody Mary (which was also free at one point on Amazon).  While I’m sure starting from the beginning and going through in order would help me feel more strongly about the characters, as a stand alone story it’s still pretty strong.

There’s enough violence and mess that would turn me off if it was a movie or show, but makes for a pretty exciting read.  I kept turning the pages to see what would happen next.  I know it’s just a matter of time until I pick up the rest of the books to see what will happen next with Jack Daniels.  I give it four out of five stars.
