I feel like everyone has read and loved this book, so I had to give it a try. Here is my review of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.
The short version of this review: I don’t get it. I think this is going to be a pretty unpopular opinion, but I just don’t get how people can be crazy about this book. Now don’t get me wrong, I think it’s well written. It’s easy to get through and well thought out. I just didn’t enjoy the story.
I guess it was just not easy to relate to. I would guess most can’t relate to the horrible aspects of cancer, but even just the way the characters were interested in the Dutch story…I just don’t get it. I would be open to reading more by John Green (like I said…it’s a well written style) but will be more mindful of the synopsis before I pick anything else up. I give this two out of five stars.
